General daily cleaning

Suitable for daily dust, fingerprints, grease and general stains.

Tools and materials:

Warm water.

Deionized water or purified water (for final rinsing to prevent water stains, especially for demanding applications).

Note: This operation will remove the surface oxide layer and may affect the consistency of appearance.For key components, professionals need to be consulted.

4. Deal with "iron pollution” or cross-contamination

After titanium rubs against softer metals (such as iron and aluminum), the other metal particles may be embedded in the surface, which may cause pitting.

Method: Use nitric acid (HNO₃) solution for passivation treatment.This is the standard method in industry to restore the corrosion resistance of titanium.

Typical process: Soak in a nitric acid solution with a volume concentration of 20-40% and at 40-60°C for 20-30 minutes.

Warning: This operation involves strong acid and is highly dangerous! It must be carried out in a fume hood by professionals wearing a full set of protective equipment (masks, gloves, aprons).After treatment, it needs to be rinsed with a lot of deionized water and dried.Non-professionals should not try.

Special precautions for different application scenarios

Medical/surgical implant grade titanium rod:

Cleaning must be carried out in a sterile or controlled environment.

Special medical cleaning agents and disinfection processes (such as high temperature and high pressure steam sterilization, plasma sterilization) are usually used, and the regulations of manufacturers and medical institutions are strictly followed.
